On the afternoon of May 2, 2023, at Bay Area Council headquarters in San Francisco, Kevin Xu — Chairman of MEBO Group, Bay Area Council executive director, and Co-Chair of its International Committee — together with Bay Area Council CEO Jim Wunderman, met with visiting Mexican Ambassador to the United States Esteban Moctezuma Barragán and his delegation. Sean Randolph, Senior Director of the Bay Area Council Economic Institute, also joined the meeting.
During the talks, Xu introduced the burn clinical research project MEBO Group launched this year in partnership with Guadalajara's Civil Hospital (Hospital Civil de Guadalajara) in Mexico, noting broad space for U.S.-Mexico cooperation in biotechnology. The Ambassador affirmed that Mexico and the Bay Area Council can strengthen cooperation in many fields, and Wunderman shared plans to lead a Bay Area delegation to Mexico next year to deepen bilateral cooperation. The two sides also exchanged views on Mexico's preparations for APEC 2023.
Wunderman then led the delegation up to the top-deck MEBO Garden for a tour with views over the Bay.
